Becoming a vampire in The Sims 4: Vampires provides you with all manner of supernatural powers, but these are balanced out by various weaknesses. As you progress through the ranks of vampire, you’ll need to choose carefully which powers to take, and which weaknesses to suffer.

There are five vampire ranks to progress through in The Sims 4: Vampires: fledgling, minor, prime, master, and grand master vampire. Each of these comes with its own suite of strengths and weaknesses, depending on your progression through the ranks. The Sims 4 Vampires power and weakness system is one of the most intriguing aspects of this game pack, so we’ve put together this guide to help you understand it.

Sims 4 Vampires power and weakness system explained

As you progress through the ranks of vampire in The Sims 4 Vampires, you’ll be given power points to spend on different vampiric powers. These will grant your Sim a variety of abilities, such as transforming into a bat for quicker travel, or mind control. Some will provide more practical benefits, such as preventing need depletion.

Each rank comes with four levels. Reaching each level grants you a set number of power points to spend on these various vampiric powers. Each power has a cost and a tier, and will increase in strength depending on how many power points you’ve invested into it. Some powers also have a conflict with each other, forcing you to choose between them.

As you reach the next rank up, you’ll be forced to take a weakness, each of which can become increasingly more detrimental the higher you climb. It’s up to you to decide how to strategically choose your strengths and weaknesses, to enhance your gameplay and roleplaying opportunities.
