The Sims 4: Learn to Write Songs and Make Money as a Musician
Your Sims are never idle - even their downtime can be spent gracing us mere mortals with their melodic compositions. Depending on their chosen instrument, your Sim can make a living as a musician by performing at special venues. But they can also bring out their guitar while enjoying dinner at the local hangout. Never underestimate their ability to step up to the microphone whenever the need arises.
In The Sims 4, your Sim can learn to sing, sing with other Sims, perform on stage at venues, and play instruments by purchasing them in Build Mode. Practicing their instrument can lead to obtaining a part-time job, but writing songs is the key to unlocking musical abilities in the game, as well as making some money along the way.
How to Write Songs in The Sims 4
To write songs in The Sims 4, make sure your Sim has learned to sing by purchasing a microphone in Build Mode. By practicing a musical instrument, Sims can level up their skills and unlock new abilities. Once your Sim reaches Level 8 in an instrument, they can select the Sheet Music icon in their inventory to start writing a song.
Writing a song takes time, so it's important to make sure your Sim's needs are met before starting the process. If their needs aren't tended to, they may stop writing the song before it's completed. Simply tap on them to resume the process.
Once the song is finished, you can name it and potentially profit from it through licensing. To license their songs, Sims must reach Level 9 in their instrument skill and interact with a mailbox. If a Sim has written multiple songs on multiple instruments, you can choose which instrument's songs to license. Once a song is licensed, the Sim will earn royalties from it for about one week, bringing in some extra money.
That's how you can write songs in The Sims 4. Remember, the open-world game is available on various platforms. Make sure to also check out the latest DLCs for The Sims 4.
