How to get the Dream Home Decorator career in The Sims 4

The Dream Home Decorator career can be found in the active careers section. Search for a job using your phone or computer and select the interior decorator option.

The career has ten levels with promotions based on your reputation and job performance. You can choose gigs from four different categories:

Some gigs will be locked until you reach a higher career level. First impressions are important, so make sure your Sim is happy, clean, and confident before heading to the job site. Keep your needs in the green to ensure your Sim is focused on the job at hand. Watch the Dream Home Decorator Network channel to boost your confidence.

How to find Dream Home Decorator jobs in The Sims 4

Gigs begin at 9am the day after you accept them, so you'll want to be prepared. It's best to accompany your Sim to the gig for better results.

First impressions are important in this career, so make sure your Sim is in a good mood and is well acquainted with the client. Getting to know the client is important to keep them happy, and you'll learn more about their preferences if you ask about their favorite color and decor to discover their favorites.

The information you discover will be recorded in the career tab, and you can use it to decorate their home. The client may want to stay and watch you work, so keep them engaged by asking them about their favorite color again. Keep in mind that the information you discover about the client may not always be useful, so try using career-specific dialogue to prompt more relevant information.

After getting the necessary information, you can send the client away and take before photos. Take photos using a camera or your phone, and try to cover each corner of the room. Some gigs may require guesswork in choosing the correct room to decorate.

You can add rooms and levels to homes as you advance in the career. Find a location for the stairs and build the room accordingly. Note the tile count for the additional level and use it as a minimum size to avoid reputation loss. Furnish the new space according to the client's request.

Sometimes renovations may not meet the client's expectations, resulting in negative reactions. Minimize the chances of this happening by paying attention to the client's preferences and needs.

After completing the renovations, take after photos to compare with the before images. You can review the before and after photos in the career tab to earn bonus Simoleons.

That's all you need to know to land your first job and start a new career in The Sims 4 Dream Home Decorator. For more in-depth gameplay, check out our Sims 4 Dream Home Decorator review.
