The Sims 4 regular competitions are: Barrel Racing, Endurance Racing, Show Jumping, and Western Pleasure. The Ultimate Horse Championship is a separate competition, and it offers much bigger rewards, but with much higher entry fees. On top of the various competitions, you can also train your horses to increase their skills at different areas. Here’s everything you need to know about the Horse Ranch competitions in The Sims 4.

Each of the regular competitions in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch checks a specific skill for the horse and its rider. The better your horse and rider are at a specific skill, the higher your chances of winning the competition. There are also different levels within each competition, and the better your performance, the higher the level you’ll be allowed to enter.

The Sims 4 Horse Ranch competitions have set entry fees and prizes for each level. The entry fees and prizes for each level are the same for all regular competitions, except for the Ultimate Horse Championship, which has higher entry fees, as well as bigger prizes.

Here are all the regular competitions in The Sims 4:

  • Barrel Racing competition
    Checks Agility skill.
  • Endurance Racing competition
    Checks Endurance skill and Jumping skill.

The Sims 4 Horse Ranch competitions are available every day between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. You can only enter a competition once per day, but you can bring multiple horses to each one. To enter a competition, you need to travel to the Equestrian Center in Chestnut Ridge. The Equestrian Center is where you’ll also go to train your horses, but it’s also where you’ll be able to enter competitions.

You can place in a competition to enter the next level, but your horse can only compete once per day. Placing in a competition allows you to choose a horse to be part of the competition, but you’ll need to bring that horse to the center to actually compete.

It’s also crucial to train between contests because the difficulty increases with each level. Each contest checks specific skills, so training can help your horse improve in areas it may not be naturally suited for.

The Sims 4 Horse Ranch competitions allow you to make money while showing off your skills. You can earn cash prizes, as well as decorative plaques. Placing in a competition allows you to enter the next level in that competition, but you’ll have to pay the entry fee again.
