The Sims 4: Horse Ranch Tips
Looking for The Sims 4: Horse Ranch tips to help you manage the workload of running a successful horse ranch? The addition of horses to The Sims 4 has the potential to be one of the most rewarding additions to the sandbox simulation game in years, but a successful horse ranch is nothing without a team of dedicated workers to manage.
With The Sims 4: Horse Ranch, you have the option to hire Ranch Hands to help with the day-to-day tasks of caring for the horses, and performing tasks around the ranch. It’s a little confusing how these workers operate at first, so here’s a breakdown of how Ranch Hands work, and how you can make the most of their services.
How to hire Ranch Hands in The Sims 4
Before you can hire any Ranch Hands, you need to complete the initial tutorial quests in The Sims 4: Horse Ranch. Once you arrive on the ranch, you’re introduced to the three workers already on staff, but you can hire more workers from the cell phone or the Ranch Bulletin Board.
You can hire Ranch Hands from your cell phone by going to the ‘Ranch’ tab, selecting ‘Hire Ranch Hand’, and then choosing ‘Call for Help’. This is the easiest and most direct method, however, you can also hire workers using the bulletin board located near the Equestrian Center. There’s no sub-menu when using the bulletin board, simply click “Hire a Ranch Hand” to start the process.
How much do Ranch Hands cost?
Hiring a Ranch Hand costs a base payment of 100 simoleons, with an additional 12 simoleons per hour worked (rounded up). Ranch Hands work from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM every day, including holidays, so there’s no worry about shutting down for the long weekend. You’re also billed for their services on a daily basis, costing you 244 simoleons each day unless you dismiss them early.
What do Ranch Hands do?
By default, Ranch Hands perform three main tasks, including caring for the horses and making repairs. If you have the Cottage Living expansion installed, they can also care for other animals on the ranch.
You can ask them to collect Manure, however, they don’t do it automatically. Manure collected by Ranch Hands is stored in the family inventory. It’s unclear whether you can use this Manure for anything aside from filling up your inventory.
