How to Read to a Child in The Sims 4

First thing’s first: you need to know how to read to a child in The Sims 4. Good parenting goes beyond feeding your little one; you need to be able to read to them, too. In fact, it’s all part of helping your child achieve aspirations. Sure, it’s also adorable, but we all know that you’re here for the goals and aspirations.

Reading to a child is just one of many cute and rewarding interactions available in the EA PC game, and it adds a whole new depth to your virtual parenting. Your baby is growing up, and they’re learning how to read! Sure, they’ll make a mess and cry, but they’re also learning to spell, count, and read, and that means you need a way to get them their books. You can read to your child by using a bookcase or by ordering a book from your computer.

How to Read to a Child from a Bookcase

To read from a bookcase, open it, select a children’s book, and choose “Read to Child.” Make sure you have children’s books in your bookcase or purchase them from the bookcase menu.

How to Read to a Child from a Computer

If you’re reading from the computer, simply select “More Choices,” then “Order,” and “Purchase Books.” Choose a children’s book, buy it, and it will appear in your inventory. Select the book from your inventory and choose “Read to Child.”

You’ll need approximately two books for each aspiration, so be sure to repeat the process a few times to complete the aspirations. It’s a cute and rewarding interaction, plus it adds depth to your virtual parenting experience. Now that you know how to read to a child, you can expand your book collection to have more options for reading, and keep in mind that a single book won’t last two hours. Enjoy the process and watch your virtual child grow and develop into the best virtual parent that there is.
