Former Cloud9 Player Vanity Expresses Frustration

The former Cloud9 Valorant player, and current top-ranked competitor in tier 2, expresses his frustration with Riot Games regarding the lack of information surrounding the competitive Valorant schedule. In an interview with PC Game Spotlight, vanity laments the uncertainty surrounding the schedule, calling it “very disappointing.”

“It’s very disappointing that we don’t have a schedule,” vanity says. “I’m not sure how long it’s going to take to get one, but I do think it’s very important for tier two teams to know when the next tournaments are.”

vanity goes on to emphasize the importance of having a clear and transparent schedule for tier 2 teams, explaining that without proper communication it becomes difficult for players to plan their careers and make informed decisions. He says, “You know, you can’t really plan your career because you don’t know when the next tournament is and you don’t know if you’re gonna have time to qualify for it.”

“It just makes it very stressful for players to have to be ready for these tournaments all the time,” he continues. “It makes it very hard to just play the game and enjoy the game because you always have to be ready to grind.”

vanity also highlights the importance of creating a structure that supports the growth of tier 2 Valorant. He explains that Riot should provide more clarity on the competitive scene and the path to becoming a top-tier player.

“There’s so many players that are in the same spot as me, or even lower,” vanity says. “There needs to be a well-defined structure, and there needs to be regular tournaments to support [the] growth [of] tier two.”

vanity concludes the interview by sharing his plans for the rest of the year. “I just want to keep playing in tier two and hopefully I can get a good team for next season,” he says. “I’m also gonna try to improve my individual skills.”

“And of course, I’m gonna try to get into the Challenger Series,” he continues. “I really want to be a part of that and I think it’s the next step for me.”
