Valorant star yay confirms Sentinels' interest before joining Cloud9
Sentinels star Valorant player yay confirms that his former team considered him a possibility for the 2023 VCT season, as the Cloud9 player offers more details on the team’s pursuit before signing with the org. Speaking with PC Game Spotlight, yay sheds light on his time on Cloud9, as well as the team’s pursuit of him before the org signed him.
yay details Sentinels’ interest in him before he joined Cloud9, with the Valorant player saying that he “was approached by Sentinels right after my VCT Finals loss to F1.” yay also says that he “would have joined them if I was offered a starting spot,” adding that he “was in talks with [Sentinels] for a few days but nothing came of it.”
The Cloud9 player also says that Sentinels were “definitely interested in me during the off-season,” with Sentinels coach habib “getting in touch with me during that time.”
After yay signed with Cloud9 in February, Sentinels coach habib gave a statement saying that the team had “explored acquiring [yay] for our roster prior to his Cloud9 deal.” Now, yay has given further insight into what happened with Sentinels before he joined Cloud9, confirming that the team had their eye on him before he joined the org.
“I was approached by Sentinels right after my VCT Finals loss to F1,” yay says. “They were definitely interested in me during the off-season, and coach getting in touch with me during that time.”

“They had their sights on me,” yay says. “They wanted me, they wanted to make me the star of the team.”
