Valorant Deadlock: Tips for Playing the Newest Sentinel Agent

Want to learn how to play Valorant Deadlock? The newest Sentinel Agent is the first female character in the game, bringing a strong and unique kit to team comps. Deadlock anchors sites, creating setups with Sonic Sensors at locations where opponent movement is expected. Playing Deadlock takes some practice and understanding of her abilities, so here are some tips to help you improve.

Deadlock is the fifth Sentinel Agent to join Valorant, with a kit that can be extremely powerful when used correctly and in tandem with the abilities of your teammates. To help you get started and improve your play, here are some tips to help you get started.

Where to place Sonic Sensors

Deadlock’s Sonic Sensor skills are powerful, but it can be tricky to use them correctly. You’ll want to avoid placing them for holding flanks and lurks as they only trigger when opponents make noise in their radius. Instead, use them for situational purposes or analyze opponent tendencies to maximize their effectiveness.

For example, you can place a Sonic Sensor on a spot where opponents will often dash or jump up to the mid point, or at a spot where they often duel. Another great use is to place them around the spike your team has planted to stun opponents trying to defuse, giving you an advantage.

GravNet is great utility for executing sites during the attacking half, combining well with other abilities and clearing tight angles. If you’re unsure of how to use it, learn lineups to ensure you’re using it effectively, and consider using it with abilities like Gekko’s Mosh Pit and KAY/O’s FRAG/MENT.

Barrier Mesh

Barrier Mesh is Deadlock’s Signature ability, and it’s perfect for blocking paths and forcing opponents to take alternate routes or waste ammunition. You can place Barrier Meshes on both ends of a corridor to narrow it down and force enemies to push through a choke point.

You can also place Barrier Mesh on top of the bomb site to force attackers to jump up to defuse the bomb, giving your team a chance to catch them off guard. Finally, if you’re in a 1v1 situation, Annihilation Ultimate wins you rounds on both attack and defense. As long as you’re not out of position, you can use Annihilation to get the jump on your opponent and win a round.

Learn correct lineups

Deadlock’s abilities are quite straightforward, but it’s important to learn correct lineups and practice using them. For example, you can use a lineup with Gekko’s Mosh Pit, KAY/O’s FRAG/MENT, and Deadlock’s Annihilation Ultimate. This combination can be extremely difficult to deal with on attack, as it allows you to quickly clear a site and eliminate opponents.
