Weirdest Weapons in Gaming
What are the weirdest and most bizarre weapons in Gaming History? We’re not talking about the best guns or best melee weapons, we’re talking about those weapons that are so strange, we can’t help but love them. We all have our favorite weapon in our favorite game, but what about those odd, out-there weapons that make you say “what?” and have you reminiscing about the games they come from.
There are so many weird weapons in gaming, it’s hard to know where to start. Luckily, we have you covered. From the Weirdest Weapons in PC games, to the most bizarre and creative things people have found while exploring games, like the Cat Suppressor from Postal 2 or the Wabbajack from Skyrim. We’ve even got a list of all the weapons in the RPG game, Elders Ring, which includes the Giant Finger.
Dubstep Gun
What better way to get the drop on your enemies than by making them dance? The Dubstep Gun from Saints Row is a fan-favorite, with the ability to make people dance and different tracks to choose from. You can even change the music while you’re shooting people, and if that wasn’t enough, you can also change the color of your gun to match your clothes.
Cat Suppressor
Let’s face it, Postal 2 is a weird game, but the Cat Suppressor takes the cake. You don’t actually shoot cats, instead using scissors and a sledgehammer to turn them into cat food. This is one of those weapons we just can’t stop thinking about.
Wabbajack
Another item up for weird weapon consideration, the Wabbajack from Skyrim casts a random spell on your enemy, which means you could either kill them, or turn them into a tree or a chicken. The craziest thing is, sometimes it doesn’t work at all, leaving you with a useless staff that’s only good for knocking NPCs out. We love it.
UNICORNSPLOSION
We’ll probably never forget Mr. Torgue, the loud-mouthed gun salesman from Borderlands 2 DLC, Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt. His catchphrase, “It’s so crazy, it just might work,” is a motto to live by, and you can even unlock his hat as a headgear in Borderlands 3. His weapons are just as crazy, with the UNICORNSPLOSION being a prime example. It’s a grenade that turns your enemies into a rainbow, and then a unicorn explodes from that rainbow, killing everyone in the vicinity.
Enter the Gungeon Shotgun Shell
This is one of our favorite weapons because it’s just so unique. Enter the Gungeon’s Shotgun Shell fires shotguns that shoot pellets, and the more pellets hit an enemy, the more damage you do. It’s like a fancy shotgun.
Cow Launcher
It’s not the most effective weapon, but firing a cow at someone until they suffocate is strangely satisfying. South Park 64’s Cow Launcher is weird, but you have to admit, it’s memorable.
Painkiller’s shuriken and lightning gun
It might look like a regular ninja star, but the Painkiller’s shuriken in Painkiller is anything but. When you equip it, you get a Guard Shield, which protects you from enemy fire. If you throw the shuriken at an enemy, you get a free hit. It’s also got a lightning gun, which is just as strange as it sounds.
Turok Vampire Gun
The Turok series has its fair share of strange weapons, and the Vampire Gun from Turok 3 is one of the best. Equipping it sucks the life from your enemy, and makes you invisible. It’s a great weapon for getting the upper hand when you’re up against the game’s rather difficult bosses.
Elders Ring Giant Finger
Remember the foam finger from Dead Space? That’s nothing compared to the Elders Ring Giant Finger. You can attack enemies with it, or use it as a shield. Who knew a giant finger could be so useful?
Final Fantasy VIII Squall’s Gunblade
Squall’s Gunblade from Final Fantasy VIII is one of the most famous swords in gaming, and it’s not just because it looks cool. When you use it, a vibrating blade is added to the tip, increasing damage. It’s a strange but effective weapon.
Bloodborne Amygdalan Arm
The Amygdalan Arm from Bloodborne is a strange weapon, and not just because it’s a tentacle attached to your arm. You can only use it while in Beast Form, and every attack has a chance to inflict random status ailments on your enemies.
