Armored Core 6

Looking for some Armored Core 6 tips and tricks? After a decade-long wait, the next installment in the FromSoftware mech combat game has finally arrived, and it’s brought some surprising changes. These might take some getting used to if you’re a long-time fan, but you’ll soon be tearing through enemies and bosses like a pro with the tips below.

There’s a lot to take in with Armored Core 6, with a wide variety of mission types that are best tackled with different types of ACs. Swapping out parts at checkpoints is crucial for this, but you might want to keep a diverse supply of leg types, batteries, FCSes, boosters, and weapons on you just in case. We’ve got some tips for getting through the opening missions and taking on the first Armored Core 6 boss, among others.

How to stagger bosses in Armored Core 6

One of the big changes to Armored Core 6 is the introduction of a stagger bar. It’s very similar to the one found in FromSoftware’s previous game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and it allows you to stagger your foe and deal heavy damage. Paying attention to the Attitude Strain Stat and using weapons with high Impact can help maintain stagger damage, but if you’re stuck you can always switch to an energy-type weapon. Even without staggering the boss, they’ll be left taking heavy damage from your supercharged beam.

You can also use this technique against standard enemies, although you won’t see quite as much of a bonus. It works particularly well against groups, staggering them one at a time and dealing damage to each one as they struggle to get back on their feet. You’ll also see this used by certain bosses as their primary attack, although theirs will generally do more damage than the standard beam you can use for trying it on regular grunts.

How to unlock weapons in Armored Core 6

Completing the tutorial missions unlocks weapons for purchase in the parts shop. You won’t be able to use these until you actually get to the first city, but they’ll be there once you do, so don’t worry about missing out.

Exploring the stages can also lead to finding and destroying tougher enemies, fallen ACs, and hidden chests. Be sure to keep an eye out and check every corner, especially once you’ve upgraded your repair kits to the point where you can use them rapidly.

Being staggered in Armored Core 6 is dangerous, as it prevents you from healing and using Repair Kits. Healing after dodging a big attack and using obstacles in boss arenas to your advantage can be the difference between life and death, especially during the Armored Core 6 boss battles.

Armored Core 6 OS tuning

Repair kits can’t be used rapidly in Armored Core 6, so don’t worry if you’re used to throwing them out willy-nilly. Instead, you’ll need to wait for a cooldown, which is represented by a spinning icon above your heat meter. As for healing, you can’t do it while staggered, but there are a couple of ways to get back on your feet while staggered.
