Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon

The return of Armored Core is something Bandai Namco is "really optimistic" about, as the FromSoftware game Fires of Rubicon has received positive reviews and is expected to attract a wider audience in the wake of Elden Ring. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon launched earlier this week, and the publisher believes FromSoftware's next game will help it hit the million sales mark.

"FromSoftware is synonymous with quality," Bandai Namco Europe CEO Stephan Schmitt says, "so with the release of Elden Ring, which has sold over a million units, the brand has become a guarantee of quality for gamers. This has certainly increased the interest in Armored Core 6, which is already a great game and will surpass the previous games in the series."

Fires of Rubicon has received positive reviews, with a current Metacritic score of 87. The CEO acknowledges that it may not achieve Elden Ring sales, but expects it to surpass previous games in the long-running series.

"It may not reach the same sales as Elden Ring, but it will surpass the previous games in the series," Schmitt says. "The new installment improves upon previous games by making the gameplay more accessible without sacrificing the core mech Action."

If you've never played an Armored Core game before but enjoyed Elden Ring, you may well find Fires of Rubicon a lot of fun. It offers a fast-paced alternative to the lengthy RPGs currently on the market, so if you're looking for a change of pace it could be exactly what you need.
