A guide to beating Operation Wallclimber
Want to know how to beat Operation Wallclimber in Armored Core 6? The first major mission in the mech game sees you navigating through a flat area filled with enemy turrets, navigating through a deep trench filled with Light MTs, and navigating through a wall with cannon turrets.
The Armored Core 6 tutorial does a good job of teaching you the basics of how to move and shoot, but the first mission of the game is filled with tricky obstacles that’ll test your piloting skills. Here’s how to beat Operation Wallclimber in the mech game.
How to beat Operation Wallclimber in Armored Core 6
The objective in Operation Wallclimber is to destroy the city’s Gatling cannons and the Tetrapod MT guarding the wall’s entrance. You’re also free to destroy any enemies and collect Battle Logs or an archive file from a downed mech.
Quick Burst should be your go-to dodge until you reach the trench. The Light MTs are fast, but they can’t go very deep into the trench. If you’re feeling confident, you can engage them, but you’ll be safer on top. The cannons on the short wall in the center of the stage can be taken out using cannon strikes from the top.
Climbing up the right side of the stage allows you to eliminate the turrets on the big wall. This makes the stage much easier, but it does require some tricky maneuvers. Use Quick Boost to climb a short section, then use another Quick Boost to circle the Tetrapod while attacking it with shoulder missiles and your primary weapon.
There are three Battle Logs to pick up on the left side of the area. The first is behind an enemy guarding the wall’s entrance. The second is near the top of the elevator, guarded by a few Light MTs. The third is at the very top of the elevator, guarded by a few shield-wielding MTs.
To reach the top of the wall, you need to enter one of the doors on the right side. There are two rooms you need to fight through. The first has a few weak MTs, while the second has two rooms of MTs with shields. The second room is tricky as the MTs with shields can block your attacks even when you’re behind them, but you can easily strafe around them and attack from behind to defeat them.
At the top of the elevator, you’re given a supply drop that fully heals you. This prepares you for the upcoming boss fight against the HA-T-102 Juggernaut. We’ll have a guide for that fight a little bit later, but it’s not especially difficult.
That’s how you beat Operation Wallclimber in Armored Core 6. For more tips and tricks, check out the best AC build for the initial tutorials, as well as the best weapons and upgrades you can get early on in the mech game.
