Our complete Bugsnax guide
Want to know how to catch Bugsnax and romance the grumpuses? Our guide assists you in doing just that, as well as exploring the island, solving mysteries, and forming relationships with the grumpuses of the Megafig mission.
Bugsnax is a charming game, and we highly recommend it. It’s similar to games like Pokemon or Dragon Quest Monsters where you play as a journalist who crash lands on a strange island full of Bugsnax, critters that resemble delicious meals. Your goal is to learn more about the island and its inhabitants by helping out the residents.
Your list of friends and allies grows as you meet the grumpy, opinionated residents of Snaxburg. As you befriend them, you’ll be able to catch even more Bugsnax. We’ll bring you all the tips and tricks you need to catch ’em all, romance the grumpuses, and more in our Bugsnax guide.
How to catch Bugsnax
Bugsnax is a game about exploration and discovery, and while you’re free to go wherever you please, we’ve broken down each area’s Bugsnax in the guides below.
Regular Bugsnax
Legendary Bugsnax
You can catch regular Bugsnax by using the tools in each area of the game. We have in-depth guides for each of these areas:
You’ll encounter Legendary Bugsnax as boss fights. These are stronger versions of regular Bugsnax, and defeating them rewards you with a new regular Bugsnax.
How to unlock new areas
To access the free DLC area, Broken Tooth Island, you must complete all the quests that convince characters to return to Snaxburg. Once you’ve convinced everyone to return to Snaxburg, you can interview them. Finally, talk to Filbo to unlock the new area.
To access the secret path between Boiling Bay and Sizzlin’ Sands, complete the personal side quests of Snorpy, Chandlo, Shelda, Triffany, and Floofty. Then, talk to Chandlo and Snorpy in Snaxburg.
How to cook Bugsnax
If you’re looking for more tools to catch Bugsnax, we’ve got you covered. In addition to regular tools, there are also special tools you can use for special Bugsnax.
How to Romance Grumpuses
Bugsnax offers more than just collecting creatures, as you can also meet and befriend different grumpuses. To meet the grumpuses, you must first befriend the regular residents. Once they’ve introduced you to their friends, you can befriend the grumpuses.
To expand your Snakpack, donate Bugsnax to Gramble’s barn. The more Bugsnax you donate, the more room you have to carry them.
You can also rest in a bed to make it rain in the game, which is useful if you’re trying to catch the Caramel Poptick in Flavor Falls.
That’s all you need to catch ’em all and complete the game, but if you’re wondering how to unlock new areas to explore, we’ve got you covered. We’ve also got a guide for the secret path between Boiling Bay and Sizzlin’ Sands, which requires completing personal side quests. Finally, if you want to carry more Bugsnax, donate Bugsnax to Gramble’s barn to expand your Snakpack.
