How to Catch the Caramel Poptick in Bugsnax
Want to know how to catch the Caramel Poptick in Bugsnax? These caramel-coated critters are just one of the 100 unique bugsnax you can find in the game, each with their own preferences and behaviors. To catch every bugsnax, you’ll have to scan and learn how to subdue or trap them, but some only appear under specific conditions, like the Caramel Poptick.
There are many bugsnax only found in specific locations in Snaxburg, Flavor Falls, and Garden Grove, and some of these only appear when it’s raining. Fortunately, the Caramel Poptick’s habitat and location is easy to spot, and its unique behavior means that it’s easy to catch as long as you’re patient. Here’s everything you need to know about the Caramel Poptick and how to catch it.
The Caramel Poptick's Habitat and Behavior
The Caramel Poptick only appears when it’s raining, so if you want to catch one, you’ll have to wait for it to rain. Luckily, there’s an easy way to trigger rain.
The Caramel Poptick’s evidence can be found in the waterfall cave in Flavor Falls, so head there and scan anything that looks out of the ordinary. Scanning a pile of caramel goop on the ground reveals that it comes from a bug that appears during rainfall.
When it’s raining, three Caramel Popticks will spawn in the cave. Return to the cave when you see it’s raining in Snaxburg, Flavor Falls, or Garden Grove, then rush back as soon as you can to try and catch one. It’s a good idea to have other tasks to complete, then return to the cave as soon as it starts raining.
Open your trap on a rock, then wait for one of the Caramel Popticks to jump into it. You’ll know the Caramel Poptick has entered your trap if the little icon for the critter appears on the map. Once you’ve caught the Caramel Poptick, you’re free to leave the area, but it’s a good idea to stay in the general vicinity to catch any other bugsnax that may spawn.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to manually make it rain in Bugsnax, so you’ll just have to wait until the game decides enough time has passed in the sun to activate the rain in Flavor Falls. If you have other tasks to complete, it’s advisable to continue playing and wait for the rain there. As soon as it starts raining in Snaxburg, Flavor Falls, or Garden Grove, you should rush back to the cave to capture the Caramel Poptick.
Bugsnax Day Length and Time Skip
Each day in Bugsnax lasts about 48 minutes, but you can use beds to skip time and make a new morning arrive sooner. Each bed only allows one skip, but there are plenty of them across Snaxburg, Flavor Falls, and Garden Grove, so you shouldn’t need to worry about running out.
