Bugsnax: How to Catch Mama Mewon and Wee Mewons
Want to know how to catch Mama Mewon in Bugsnax? As part of Chandlo’s side quest in Flavor Falls, you’ll have to engage in a fight with the Legendary Bugsnax. While the mechanics of the battle aren’t too complicated, the fight could take a while to complete, especially if you’re trying to capture the Wee Mewons as well.
To be honest, this side quest is a little bit of a pain. Not only do you have to convince Chandlo to return to Snakburg, which requires you to complete all of his quests in Sugarpine Woods, but you need to travel all the way from Snakburg to Flavor Falls. Then, you’ll need to convince Chandlo that you can take on Mama Mewon, despite the fact that you aren’t a legendary bug catcher. Finally, you’ll need to take on this giant bug using some rather unorthodox methods.
How to Find Mama Mewon in Bugsnax
To start this quest, you need to convince Chandlo to return to Snakburg. You can do this by completing any quest that takes you to the Woods, such as Bewitching Beehive or Green Gummy Goo. Once you’ve completed both quests, you’ll receive Throw Down!, which takes you to Flavor Falls. Upon accepting the quest, you’ll automatically travel to Flavor Falls and begin the quest.
How to Beat Mama Mewon
The fight against Mama Mewon involves two mechanics: her protective nature towards her kiddies and the use of large stalactites in the arena.
You’ll want to lure Mama Mewon underneath one of the stalactites. Use the Snakgrappler to damage her watermelon shell, but make sure she’s underneath the stalactite, otherwise, the stalactite will damage her instead. Once she’s under a stalactite, she’ll start moving around the arena, which is where the Wee Mewons come into play.
Your goal is to capture the Wee Mewons. To do this, you’ll want to place your Snak Trap underneath a stalactite and in front of a statue in the arena. The statue acts as a sort of counter, increasing the time that the Wee Mewon is trapped. You also need to time your captures correctly because Mama Mewon will move around the arena, releasing any trapped kiddos. If you fail to make a capture, the wee ones will run towards Mama and enter their protective shell.
Timing is crucial for capturing the Wee Mewons while avoiding Mama Mewon’s attacks. Once you’ve captured a few Wee Mewons, Mama Mewon will split in half, entering a second phase of the fight.
In this phase, you’ll want to wait for Chandlo to lure Mama Mewon underneath a stalactite.
