How to Beat Bugsnax Cheddaboardle Rex in Snaktooth Island's Isle of Bigsnax Update

Want to know how to beat the Cheddaboardle Rex? The latest legendary Bugsnax in Isle of Bigsnax will test every skill you’ve attained thus far. The new update introduces Broken Tooth Island, a new landmass off the coast of Snaktooth Island. While the hunting grounds are largely a fresh destination, they also house supersized Bugsnax to catch. Here’s how to beat the Cheddaboardle Rex in Snaktooth Island and reap the rewards.

The Isle of Bigsnax update introduces Broken Tooth Island, a new landmass off the coast of Snaktooth Island. This new area offers more of what you’ve come to expect in Snaktooth Island, including supersized Bugsnax to catch. Among these fresh faces is the Cheddaboardle Rex, the largest and most challenging Bugsnax in the game, serving as the climax to the update’s new storyline.

How to Fight Bugsnax Cheddaboardle Rex

To engage in the fight against the Cheddaboardle Rex, you’ll need to complete quests from Chandlo, Floofty, Shelda, and Triffany on Broken Tooth Island. Once you’ve resolved the Grumpuses’ conflicts, they’ll unveil a supersized Strabby for the Buggy Ball, which can be used to break a previously obstructive rock and access the arena-like inner sanctum.

Following the quest objectives, you’re prompted to place the Buggy Ball into the launcher on the right-hand side of the arena. Using the Snakgrappler, you’re able to launch the Buggy Ball, initiating the encounter.

Bugsnax Cheddaboardle Rex Fight Breakdown

The fight against the Cheddaboardle Rex consists of five distinct phases.

In phase one, you’re tasked with utilizing Lunchpads to launch Cheddorbs at the boss. While this may sound simple, Cheddorbs are limited, and the Lunchpads can only be used and replenished when the Cheddaboardle is dazed.

As the fight progresses, the Cheddaboardle unveils piles of rocks that impede your progress. You’re then tasked with using Shrink Spice to destroy the rocks, allowing you to utilize the Lunchpads.

In phase two, you’re required to bait the Cheddaboardle into launching Cheddorbs towards vertical slots on the walls. These slots can be grappled, allowing you to retaliate against the boss.

In phase three, you’re tasked with navigating a maze with the Buggy Ball, while the Cheddaboardle’s attacks become increasingly threatening.

In phase four, you’re tasked with completing three simple steps to defeat the Cheddaboardle Rex.

In the final phase, you’re able to use the Buggy Ball to inflict damage while navigating the inner sanctum.

Once the Cheddaboardle Rex is defeated, you’re able to feed the defeated Bugsnax to Chandlo, concluding the update’s storyline.

If you choose to return to Broken Tooth Island after completing the quest, you’ll notice a statue surrounded by rubble within the temple’s sanctum. In our experience, the statue allows you to replay the boss fight if you so desire.

That’s everything you need to beat Bugsnax Cheddaboardle Rex in Snaktooth Island’s Isle of Bigsnax update. While this legendary Bugsnax is the biggest and toughest thus far, there’s still one more to come. The next update will introduce the smallest Bugsnax in the world, Gnatnax. While details are scarce, we do know that the update will offer new gameplay mechanics.
