The Lollipop Chainsaw Remake, RePOP, Delayed

The long-awaited Lollipop Chainsaw Remake, RePOP, is delayed as developer Dragami Games opts to take more time to ensure the game meets its expectations. Although this may be disappointing for fans, the studio promises to continue supporting its work, and a new screenshot is shared to appease eager players.

“We are sad to announce that RePOP will be delayed,” the official Dragami Games Twitter account announces. “We decided to postpone the release to improve the game’s quality. We appreciate your continued support!”

While the delay may be upsetting to some, it may actually benefit the game by allowing more development time and avoiding competition with other highly anticipated titles that could steal its limelight.

The original Lollipop Chainsaw was released all the way back in 2012, making fans even more eager for the remake, which is set to keep the character design and cheerleader outfit of protagonist Juliet intact. Dragami Games says the delay also gives players more breathing room in 2023, which is already packed with other major game releases.

The studio does not indicate when the new release date will be, but a new screenshot of the game is shared to appease fans. It shows the game’s logo, which features mismatched, garish fonts, reflecting the tone of the original.

So far in 2023, players have been treated to new trailers for the upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sequel, as well as the release of Cyberpunk 2077, the sequel to The Witcher 2, and the fourth entry in the popular F.A.M.E. series.

The article also suggests, “If you find yourself with a backlog of games to contend with, maybe you can find the time to play Final Fantasy 16,” along with a picture of the iconic chibi character from Lollipop Chainsaw, and an emoji laughing with its hand over its mouth.

While 2023 has been good to gamers so far, perhaps the delay will give RePOP the time it needs to ensure it’s as good as possible, and avoid competing with other major games that may steal its limelight.
