Refurbished Steam Decks
Refurbished Steam Decks are available at discounted prices on Valve and GameStop, though you’ll have to be quick if you want one as they’re selling out fast. These fixed-up remnants of abandoned devices should save you some cash, but you won’t be getting the latest and greatest components.
The refurbished Steam Decks will be available on both Steam and GameStop, but in limited quantities. Each unit has undergone thorough testing and may include cosmetic blemishes. Valve says it performs over 100 tests on these models, including battery assessment and screen and control checks.
The 512GB model sees the biggest price drop at $130 off compared to a new model, with the 256GB version cutting $110 off and the 64GB starting model dropping $80 to $319.
Refurbished Steam Decks come with the same one-year warranty as new ones, and GameStop is exclusively selling refurbished Steam Decks to Pro users. Unfortunately, GameStop’s units seem to be slightly more expensive than the ones Valve is selling.
The different warranty provided by GameStop is likely due to the fact that it’s sourcing its refurbished units from devices deemed as not being resalable, which means they may have more cosmetic issues.

Refurbished Steam Deck specs
The Steam Deck specs also don’t seem to have changed with the refurbished models, with Valve saying “the units we’re selling are powered by an AMD Zen 2 “Aerith” APU and feature a 1280 x 800 display and 16GB of RAM.”
Stay on the cutting edge by getting a refurbished Steam Deck at a discounted price.
