Talking Super Mario Bros. flower is already annoying people
The new Super Mario Bros. Wonder talking flower is already getting a bad reaction from players, as the character’s voice lines feel obnoxiously sweet.
Speaking about the new Super Mario Bros. Wonder talking flower, Teyga, our editor expresses a lack of trust in the character, and advises readers to be cautious as well. The talking flower breaks the consistency of the game, where other characters don’t speak like regular humans, and its lifeless eyes and disembodied voice only serve to raise suspicions about its true motives.
In addition to this, the dominance of the tutorial flower in the game might not be well-received by players as well, especially given that it’s mainly a re-release of Super Mario Bros. 2 with some new features. Seasoned players may not appreciate obnoxious tutorials and hints while replaying levels they’ve already mastered.
The editor suggests implementing a button prompt or toggle to make the flower’s presence optional, and personally, they “don’t want the flower anywhere near [them].”
Super Mario Wonder is releasing for Nintendo Switch on October 23.
