Tekken 8 might be close to getting an official release date, as the Fighting Game has been rated by a South Korean age rating system, suggesting the studio is ready to share more information on the upcoming game. That’s not all, as even the closed network test of Tekken 8 went well, but some fans did play the early build offline.

Studio Bandai Namco hasn’t commented on the latest rumors, but news of the age rating is sure to get the blood pumping of fans hoping for an official release date. We already knew the closed network test for Tekken 8 went well, but players did manage to find a way to play the early build offline.

The age rating (via ResetEra user Xenosaga) comes from South Korea, and indicates that the fighting game is in a very playable state. While it doesn’t provide any new information, it does suggest that we’re getting ever closer to hearing about a release date.

We already know that Tekken 8 is aiming for a 2023 release, but a late summer release might be on the cards. We also hope for an early 2024 release, as the game would have breathing room from other fighting game releases.

While the age rating doesn’t reveal much, it does suggest that Bandai Namco is ready to talk about the official release date. We’re hoping they’re ready to announce an early 2024 release instead of a summer one, but only time will tell.
