The Sims 4 Horse Ranch
The Sims 4 Horse Ranch is all about horses, but it’s so much more. It’s certainly the case that, if you are not interested in horses, then this latest Sims 4 expansion pack probably isn’t going to appeal to you. That said, if you are someone who has always wanted their Sims to raise and ride a steed, then this is the pack for you.
As a builder, I am naturally drawn to the new building items and materials offered by The Sims 4 Horse Ranch, as they all fit together so well. Of course, there are a lot of customization options available for horses, with many traits available for Sims, cats, and dogs now applied to the equestrian species. However, if you want to add a horse to your family, you may find that Binky, the white horse that comes with your first horse barn, is already there waiting for you. That’s right, there’s a horse waiting for you to join the family as soon as you buy the Horse Ranch expansion.
Sims can interact with horses and learn how to train them, ride them, and compete with them. Horses also have their own emotions, much like cats and dogs, so they may feel embarrassed if they have an accident, or they may become angry if they are neglected. They may even escape their enclosure, or make themselves at home on your sofa, just like a cat or dog.
After spending some time with the pack, I can say that exploring the game world on horseback is a unique and enjoyable experience. The long and winding paths can be a challenge to traverse, but they are so much fun to explore on horseback, especially when you reach the mountains. The expansion also introduces a large world called Chestnut Ridge, which is split into different neighborhoods and areas to discover. You can also ride horses into the magical realm for the very first time.
