The VLRA Tech Apollo

The VLRA Tech Apollo is a well-built and competitively priced gaming PC, but it doesn’t offer exceptional performance. It may not be the best choice if you’re looking for a system that punches above its weight. Nonetheless, it’s a solid choice for 1080p gaming and can handle 1440p gaming with optimized titles.

The Apollo features an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor paired with a budget Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU to aim for solid gaming performance without breaking the bank. Both of these components are solid choices, but they don’t offer the best value for similar prices.

Aesthetically, the PC comes in a Deepcool Matrexx 55 V3 tempered glass case with four RGB fans. It’s a striking looking PC that includes 16GB of Kingston Fury Beast RGB DDR4-3200 RAM and a 1TB Gen 4 NVMe SSD. You can check out the full specs below:

Full specs of the VLRA Tech Apollo gaming PC:

The price starts at $1,099, but the reviewed unit costs $1,130 due to an additional fan. At the time of this review, the VLRA Apollo is available for $1,099 on Amazon.

Deepcool Matrexx 55 V3 review

The case and build quality are impressive, with a premium look and easy upgradeability. There’s plenty of room behind the motherboard tray and the wire management is clean and easy to follow.

The RGB Deepcool Gammaxx tower cooler provides sufficient cooling for this mainstream machine. It’s not as quiet as other AIO coolers, but it’s also not particularly loud either.

1TB NVMe SSD: Is it still good?

The 1TB NVMe SSD is a bit outdated and doesn’t offer top performance. It’s serviceable, but the PC will take a hit to load times with this drive. At the same price point, you can find 1TB models that are faster than this.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X performance

The AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor offers solid gaming performance for its price. In synthetic benchmarks, it performs well against other 5500X competitors and has a low TDP for efficient cooling.

In games, the VLRA Apollo performs well in 1080p and can play certain 1440p optimised games. It struggles with more graphically intensive games at higher resolutions.

The RTX 4060 offers advantages over other mainstream gaming GPUs, namely DLSS 3 and Frame Generation. These features can help improve frame rates and provide a smoother gaming experience, but they aren’t a magic bullet.

While the Apollo can play most games at 1080p and lower 1440p, it’s not the best choice for more demanding games. It will take a quality GPU to run these games, but the RTX 4060 Ti may not be worth the extra cost.

VLRA Tech Apollo gaming benchmarks:

The VLRA Apollo is a solid entry-level gaming PC, but it doesn’t offer exceptional value for its price.
