Asus Vivobook Pro 16X

The Asus Vivobook Pro 16X is a fun, powerful machine that’ll keep you entertained for hours on end, but as an Asus gaming laptop, it might not be the best choice out there. In fact, it’s more expensive than most similar models, and it’s difficult to see where the extra money’s been spent.

The Asus Vivobook Pro 16X is a serious, professional machine, but if you take a closer look, you’ll notice the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU and Intel Core i9-13980HX CPU are actually specs you’d find on a premium desktop. The Asus Vivobook Pro 16X is a fun laptop, but its hefty price tag and Thunderbolt 4 may put gamers off. Here’s what we make of the Asus Vivobook Pro 16X.

Asus Vivobook Pro 16X specs

The Asus Vivobook Pro 16X specs include:

  • Intel Core i9-13980HX CPU
  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU
  • 32GB DDR5 memory
  • 1TB SSD for storage

The Asus Vivobook Pro 16X is a top-tier gaming laptop that comes with powerful components. The Intel Core i9-13980HX CPU is a beast, and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU is more than capable of running even the most demanding games at high frame rates.

You also get 32GB DDR5 memory and a 1TB SSD for storage, which is plenty for most users. There’s also a possibility to upgrade the SSD, but you’ll have to remove several screws to get inside the laptop.

As for connectivity, Asus includes a wealth of ports, with USB ports, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi 6E. There’s also a bevy of ports for external monitors, charging, and SSDs.

Asus Vivobook Pro 16X design

The Asus Vivobook Pro 16X design is slick and professional, with a sleek silver exterior and minimal branding. It’s far from one of the best gaming laptops out there, but it’ll appeal to those looking for something a little more professional.

The keyboard features a unique orange Esc key and rubber feet that prevent the laptop from slipping. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the circle drawn on the trackpad to adjust settings, which looks pretty unprofessional.

Asus Vivobook Pro 16X screen

The Asus Vivobook Pro 16X OLED screen is a real standout feature, with a 16-inch size and a resolution of 3200 x 2000, it’s both big and beautiful. It’s also bright, colorful, and can achieve a 120Hz refresh rate, which is particularly impressive given its size.

Asus Vivobook Pro 16X performance

Gaming performance is excellent with the RTX 4070 GPU keeping frame rates high, and it offers similar performance to other gaming laptops with the same GPU, such as the Asus ROG Dominator Extreme.

System performance is also strong, keeping up with other gaming laptops, and it won’t slow down when running multiple programs and other demanding tasks.

Battery life is average, lasting around 1 hour 40 minutes in gaming benchmarks, so you’ll need to keep the charger close by if you plan on gaming away from home.

Asus Vivobook Pro 16X keyboard and trackpad

The Asus Vivobook Pro 16X keyboard is comfortable to use, with a good amount of travel, but the numpad is a bit of an odd addition. Again, this might look a little unprofessional if you’re using the laptop in a professional setting.

The trackpad is a little frustrating to use, and turning off the features to avoid accidental clicks isn’t a great option. The pointer seems to have a mind of its own and will click on things when I’m not even near the laptop, which can be a bit of a pain.

Asus Vivobook Pro 16X price

The Asus Vivobook Pro 16X price is $1,999.
