It’s official: Final Fantasy 14‘s next Expansion is called Dawntrail, as revealed by a trailer from Square Enix’s 2023 Fan Festival in Las Vegas. Final Fantasy 14 will be getting a new expansion in Summer 2024, and you can expect it to land at around the same price as previous additions, requiring the base game, Shadowbringers, and the previous expansion, Endwalker.
The trailer is light on details, but it does confirm that the new story and setting will take us to the New World, known as Tural in-game, where we’ll assist in the Rite of Succession and explore new areas like Urqopacha and Yak T’el. The new hub city, Tuliyollal, will serve as the base of operations, and we can expect to see tribe quests, with The Pelupelu from Final Fantasy 10 and 10-2 confirmed as one of the tribes.
We’ll also be seeing new jobs, with hints suggesting a Pictomancer and Corsair class will be among the additions. There’s also a graphical overhaul in the works, with high-resolution textures, improved material quality, and enhanced lighting and shadows among the improvements. System updates are also on the way, with new features and improvements to come.

Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail is set to release in Summer 2024, as confirmed by Square Enix. Final Fantasy 14: Shadowbringers, the MMO game’s fourth expansion, launched in April 2023, so Dawntrail arrives a few months later.

Final Fantasy 14’s next expansion, Dawntrail, is set to cost $59.99 / £49.99 / €59.99, as confirmed by Square Enix. This is the same price as Final Fantasy 14’s previous expansion, Endwalker, and Shadowbringers.
