I Commissioned Some Bees 0 is pure clickbait. I know because I clicked on the link. And what I found was a pleasant surprise: a free Indie Game that’s both cute and calming, and perfect for a mental refreshment break during the workday.

From developer Zircon Flywheel, I Commissioned Some Bees 0 is part of a series of games that let you click on mysterious objects, with a 14th entry in the works, I Commissioned Some Bunnies. Here, you’re asked to click on black-and-yellow bugs and bee-related items as you explore 10 commissioned artworks.

Gameplay is simple: you click on bees. Or whatever else is hiding in the colorful scenes, from a toy store to a village filled with colorful monsters. The backgrounds are vibrant and pleasing to look at, and each level offers a different scene to explore.

The game maintains a positive and calming atmosphere, even when the bees and other objects start to get covered by invading monsters. The music adds to the Relaxing experience, as well, with a lo-fi hip hop vibe that makes me feel like I’m playing a game that would be sponsored by some sort of health drink or meditation app.

While I wouldn’t say that I Commissioned Some Bees 0 is the kind of game that would get me to play for hours at a time, it does serve as a nice, low-key introduction to the joy that is finding hidden bees. If you do enjoy it, there are plenty more where those came from, as the “I Commissioned” series has plenty of other entries that I haven’t clicked on yet, but now I kind of want to.
