An unreleased Intel Arc A580 graphics card allegedly benchmarked

The unreleased Intel Arc A580 graphics card allegedly gets benchmarked, but we’re not exactly sure how or why. The chipmaker’s cheaper solution for gamers never made it to market, and we’re not sure why. Now, someone with access to one of the alleged cards has used GFXBench 5.0 to upload performance numbers, and they’re not very impressive.

The Arc A580 would have used severely cut-down ACM-G10 GPUs, but the current generation of Intel’s high-end offerings struggle to compete with midrange options. The chipmaker may have decided not to launch it due to competition from AMD and Nvidia, but the benchmark could suggest otherwise.

We’re not sure who uploaded the results to GFXBench, but they show the device is behind Intel’s Arc A770 but outperforms the Arc A380. It seems likely that whoever used the benchmarking tool has access to an unreleased device, but we’re not sure if the benchmark is a sign of an upcoming launch.

That said, the results shouldn’t be taken as conclusive evidence of the A580’s performance. They could be fake, or influenced by various factors. For example, GFXBench isn’t the best benchmark for determining the performance of desktop PC hardware, and we don’t know how the device was calibrated.
