Layers of Fear Strange Objects
The Horror game Layers of Fear is filled with strange objects that provide direct hints at otherworldly forces. These enigmatic items, hidden in plain sight, hold secrets that are only revealed once collected. With their alien appearance and eerie sounds, it is clear that they serve a purpose.
Exploring the Actor's Story
Out of all the collectible types in Layers of Fear, the Actor's Story has the least hidden items. However, the Painter's Story has complex and multi-layered collectibles. Although the Actor's Tale is more straightforward, unraveling these mysterious oddities requires careful observation. Discovering all five Strange Objects and their meanings is crucial for a thorough exploration of Layers of Fear.
Locations of the Strange Objects
There are five Strange Objects scattered throughout Layers of Fear. Uncovering their secrets is one of the creepiest aspects of the game, but it also raises more questions than answers, which seems to be the recurring theme of your journey.
These are the five Strange Objects in the Actor's Story of Layers of Fear:
-Strange Box: In Chapter Two, after escaping from the Formless Monster through a vent, move the mannequin to the left. It will trigger a switch, revealing a hidden door. Inside, shut off the electricity using the button, then run past the barrier before the power comes back on to collect the Strange Box. This is the most important Strange Object as it unlocks the secrets of the others.
-Strange Cube: In the first area of the hedge maze in Chapter Three, follow the path to the end and crawl through the tunnel. There, you'll encounter a multi-armed statue. To the right of it is a large tree trunk with holes. Opening all sixteen holes by interacting with them will reveal the flame behind, and the Strange Cube will appear on the bench behind you.
-Strange Shell: After obtaining the Strange Cube, you'll find the shell on the floor in front of the Strange Note. Pick it up and place it in front of any object's pedestal. The shell can be moved freely between pedestals, and while attached, it allows you to hear a secret message when holding the object.
-Strange Tree: In Chapter Four, locate a chamber with two large bird cages on the sides, each containing rowing mannequins. To the right of the door, there is a locked trunk. Activate the mannequins next to it, then examine the cards on the table. The numbers on the cards form the combination to unlock the trunk. Inside, you'll find the Strange Tree.
-Strange Eyes: During the final chapter, after reaching the Rat Queen's shrine, open the box behind the altar. If you have found the Strange Tree, the room that appears to be the Rat Queen's altar will now be accessible. Align the rat-shaped spotlights so that all three illuminate the central statue. Once the lights are aligned, you will obtain the Strange Eyes.
Upon obtaining the Strange Eyes, you can interact with the strange rat statue in the cabin. These Strange Objects provide a chilling experience as you uncover the secrets of Layers of Fear.
