Maxsun GeForce RTX 4090 MGG Mega Gamer Graphics Card
The Maxsun GeForce RTX 4090 MGG Mega Gamer graphics card has popped up online, showcasing a unique fan layout that the manufacturer says improves cooling performance over competitors. The GPU manufacturer’s latest offering boasts a full-metal aluminum shroud, a removable LED screen called the “MGG LED Ambient Kit,” and a unique fan design that we haven’t seen before on graphics cards.
The GeForce RTX 4090 MGG Mega Gamer features a unique fan layout that includes three 100mm intake fans at the front, and two smaller exhaust fans on the side. Maxsun says this design actively pulls hot air out of the heatsink to improve cooling performance, and includes start-stop functionality to reduce noise when idling or working at low GPU utilisation.
The fan blades are a unique point of the design, with Maxsun claiming that the three front fans feature an 11-fan blade design that increases air pressure and improves cooling. The two smaller exhaust fans are referred to as “Air Boost Fans,” with Maxsun claiming that they cool the card more effectively than traditional triple-fan designs.
It’s interesting to see the use of this five-fan cooler design on a more powerful graphics card, as Maxsun previously used the same design on lower-end RTX 40 series GPUs. The company may have optimised the design for higher power output, but it’s unclear what the reasoning is behind this choice.
In terms of specs, the RTX 4090 Mega Gamer boasts a 7000mm squared aluminum heatsink with 9 “Hybrid Heat Pipes” to maintain GPU temperature. The card also features a customisable LED light bar and the aforementioned “MGG LED Ambient Kit,” which appears to be a removable cover that fits over the fan shroud.
When it comes to dimensions, the RTX 4090 Mega Gamer measures 337mm long, 66mm high, and 137mm wide — making it longer and wider than the Asus ROG Strix, but shorter than the MSI Ventus 3X. It’s unclear when the RTX 4090 Mega Gamer will be available for purchase, and it’s highly unlikely that it will officially release in the US.
