AFOX Introduces the AFX RTX 4090
The graphics card market is slowly waking from its cold sleep and warming to the idea of custom GeForce RTX 40-series options. Following the reveal of Asus’ ROG RTX4020-9090, we have another newcomer to the table in AFOX, and its first card is a stunner.
AFOX, a company with over two decades of experience in the computer hardware industry, is predominantly known for its internal components such as chassis, SSDs, power supplies, and other essentials. However, AFOX has now ventured into graphics card manufacture with the AFX RTX 4090.
Measuring just 10.5 inches in length, the AFOX RTX 4090 is already an inch shorter than the Nvidia Founders Edition. It also fits inside a much more compact chassis, making it the perfect choice for small-form-factor systems or even workstations with limited space.
Impressive Performance and Design
Despite being an unknown quantity, there is no reason to doubt the quality of the AFOX RTX 4090. This card adheres to the reference design and boasts a compact chassis, full gaming-grade PCB, and superb innards, making it one of the best GeForce RTX 4090 options available right now.
The AFOX RTX 4090 features a base clock of 2,230 MHz and a boost clock of 2,520 MHz, matching every other high-end RTX 4090. It requires a minimum 450W PSU and a single 16-pin power connector. The location of the power connector at the rear of the graphics card, combined with its shorter stature, helps with cable management in smaller cases or densely packed workstations.
On the outputs side, the AFOX RTX 4090 offers one HDMI 2.1 port and three DisplayPort 1.4a outputs. This provides more than enough connectivity options for users to connect a VR headset, a couple of gaming monitors, and an HDMI flashlight ring, if desired.
As of writing, AFOX has not yet revealed pricing or availability details for the AFX RTX 4090. However, it is evident that this newcomer is a strong contender, matching or even surpassing its competitors. We will be keeping a close eye on AFOX and its future offerings.
