Command & Conquer: Combined Arms
Command & Conquer: Combined Arms is a free mod that brings together five factions from the history of Command & Conquer into one epic battle, powered by the OpenRA engine. This mod, based on the popular OpenRA mods that have modernized Command & Conquer, aims to combine the Soviets, Allies, GDI, Nod, and the Scrin factions from the Red Alert games and the Tiberian universe, delivering the ultimate RTS experience.
Using the OpenRA engine, Combined Arms faithfully recreates factions and units from various Command & Conquer titles, including Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2. Players will have the opportunity to command iconic units such as the Soviet Kirovs, GDI Titan mechs, and the Grand Cannon, as well as explore the upgrade trees introduced in the Red Alert games.
Whether you prefer singleplayer missions, cooperative multiplayer missions, or intense multiplayer skirmishes, Combined Arms offers a complete Command & Conquer experience. And the best part is, the mod is still under development, with more exciting content on the horizon. Take a look at some gameplay footage below:
Combined Arms has recently received an update that introduces new features, artworks, and sounds, further enhancing the overall gameplay experience. The mod even includes an entire unit update system, allowing players to retrofit existing units for added customization.
Despite being developed on an ancient engine, Combined Arms runs smoothly on modern hardware, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the OpenRA team. OpenRA is essentially a free and open-source version of the original Red Alert engine, and the team has tirelessly worked to ensure a seamless and enjoyable gaming experience.
While we are disappointed that Command & Conquer Remastered has been cancelled, it is reassuring to see the continuous improvement of OpenRA. This not only paves the way for the highly anticipated C&C: Spice Wars, but also ensures the revival of Command & Conquer: Red Alert.
