Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 LP: A Low-Profile Ada Lovelace Design
A Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 LP has been shown off by VideoCardz, and it looks like it’ll be one of the first proper low-profile Ada Lovelace designs on the market. The images reveal a surprisingly compact, uniquely-designed model that’s a bit of an outlier when it comes to other RTX 4060 graphics card designs.
With a TDP of 115 W, the GeForce RTX 4060 is naturally going to be a darling of mini ITX and low-profile enthusiasts, but there aren’t many options out there for those folks. Most of the AIB models on the market are big, bulky, and follow more traditional designs. Gigabyte’s RTX 4060 LP model, however, is a departure from the norm.
There aren’t any official product pages up at the moment, but the images reveal some interesting features. First off, the Gigabyte RTX 4060 LP uses a triple-fan setup, which is definitely a bit of a departure from the norm. Most previous Gigabyte LP models have opted for a more conservative dual-fan design, suggesting that the model may be pushing the thermal design limit a bit.
The card also features a full-height double slot bracket, which isn’t all that surprising given its power requirements. It also comes with an 8-pin power connector, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and two DisplayPort 1.4 ports. The images don’t really show the low-profile bracket or the back of the card, so it’s possible that it lacks a backplate.
Low-profile cards like this are often popular in smaller or older systems that are still kicking, but don’t have a lot of room for expansion. The compact size, 3D acceleration, and strong video codec support make it an appealing option for living room PCs and HTPCs as well. We’re still waiting on news about the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 LP(s)’s pricing and availability.
