Turn your Steam Deck into a PlayStation 2 and enjoy retro gaming with a simple dock and legal emulation.
With the Steam Deck, you can easily turn your gaming PC into a PlayStation 2 and enjoy retro gaming without the hassle of image stretching or fuzzy screens. Not only is Emulation ethical, but it’s the only affordable way to experience gaming history. So blow those dusty carts out of the water and dive into the deep library of games that were previously inaccessible.
With the Steam Deck, you get incredibly fast loading times and smooth gameplay, along with the ease and affordability of modern hardware. Map everything to a wireless Xbox Series controller and you won’t have to tangle with those ancient wires or fight with the finicky PS2 ports. Retro gaming can be inaccessible and expensive, but not anymore.
Try out games without breaking the bank or resorting to eBay scalpers. Here’s how to turn a Steam Deck into a PS2:
Get the right dock
You don’t need anything fancy to turn your Steam Deck into a PS2, all you need is a simple dock. Unfortunately, there aren’t any official PS2 Steam Deck docks, so you’ll need to look elsewhere.
We recommend the E-Blue E-Blue N3 Lite N3L Lite – it’s cheap and it works great with the Steam Deck, although you may have to fiddle with settings to get the best performance. If you have a Steam Controller, you can also check out our best Steam Controller Dock guide.
