How to Change Your Character in Sea of Thieves
Changing your character is easy, and it's a great way to switch up your pirate's appearance in the multiplayer game. Your pirate's appearance can be changed at any time by choosing a premade pirate based on their gender and unique appearance.
It goes without saying, but it's worth noting that Sea of Thieves is a multiplayer game, meaning your character's appearance is tied to your account. While you can change your pirate's looks and hairstyle, your pirate's body type, gender presentation, skin color, and facial features are permanent.
To change your character in Sea of Thieves, you need to load into the main menu. From there, navigate to the "Pirate Emporium" box in the upper right-hand corner of the main menu.
Once you're in the Pirate Emporium, navigate to the Pirate tab and locate the Pirate Appearance Potion. You can purchase this for 149 Ancient Coins, which works out to around $2.09 USD.
You can buy Ancient Coins through the in-game store, but be warned that there are several packages available with prices ranging from $1.99 to $34.99 USD. It's also worth pointing out that these prices may be different based on your preferred platform and location.
Once you have the potion, you can use it straight away by relaunching Sea of Thieves. When you're at the bottom of your ship, you'll be given the option to choose a new character without losing any of your progress. If you don't like any of the options, you can shut down and reboot the game to get a new set of characters.
