Level up your Skyrim skills quickly with these power leveling methods.
Want to get your Skyrim skills to level 100 within minutes? Leveling up in Skyrim can be a slow and sometimes arduous exercise – especially if you don’t know how to get the most from the RPG sandbox game – but there are ways to level up quickly.
Skyrim is, in many respects, a diabolical fiend that wants to watch players struggle for hours on end, bleating like a lost lamb as they fumble against menus, trying and failing to pickpocket everyone in sight. However, with a few tricks and a bit of patience, it’s pretty easy to power level a skill or two and get your character ready for multiplayer or any other plans you have for your Skyrim character. Here’s how to do just that.
How to power level skills in Skyrim
Stealing is one of the best skills in Skyrim because players don’t have to wait for someone to teach it to them, and they don’t need multiple perks to carry out different actions. The pickpocket skill can be power leveled by finding a Pickpocket trainer and stealing the money back from them. This method of leveling will work for all of the skills in the list below.
Another skill that can be leveled up swiftly is lockpicking. The Skyrim easy lock pick guide will help players acquire the Skeleton Key. Practice chests are located in the Thieves Guild, allowing players to repeatedly pick the locks without worrying about being caught.
Sneak is one of the easiest skills to power level, and players can do it in about 30 minutes of starting a new playthrough. Find a dungeon with bandits, raiders, or thieves and crouch behind one of the crates or tables just outside their sight. From this position, players can repeatedly attack them with weapons and spears. They are not usually aggressive at this range.
Archery, like pickpocketing and lockpicking, can be leveled more quickly by repeatedly firing at the Greybeards in High Hrothgar while not being seen.
Alchemy and Enchanting can be leveled by using Fortify Alchemy and Fortify Enchanting potions. Ideally, alchemy potions should be used beforehand to increase the strength of the Alchemy skill. Each potion is made with a specific base, so if players do not have the requisite level, they will not be able to make it in the alchemy lab.
Smithing can be leveled more quickly if players drink a Fortify Smithing potion. To temper items, players should drop them from their inventory onto the surface inside a smithy, forge, or armor bench. These places are the areas where the heating kilns are located. The items on the surface will be placed in flames, and players will be able to work.
Speech can be leveled by selling items to merchants and then choosing Persuade or Intimidate dialogue options. Players should always remember to pick up the money from the counter after leveling the Speech skill.
Light Armor can be power leveled by finding a Light Armor trainer and stealing the money back. The trainers won’t equip their armor until after players have leveled up once. They will then equip the armor and offer training repeatedly.
Heavy Armor can be leveled by completing the Companions questline or training with a Heavy Armor trainer and pickpocketing the money back.
One-handed and Two-Handed skills can be leveled by repeatedly using Ralof or Hadvar as a punching bag, but they’re faster to level if players attack a horse instead.
Blocking can be leveled up by shield bashing non-hostile NPCs repeatedly to absorb the damage. Players can also drink Vegetable Soup to shield-bash repeatedly.
Destruction can be leveled by using a destruction spell and a Healing Hands Restoration spell on a horse. Players can level up each skill by as much as 71% in a single sitting if they have enough Magicka.
Alteration can be leveled by casting Water Breathing on a horse or Telekinesis spells.
Conjuration can be leveled by repeatedly casting Soul Trap on a corpse or a horse.
Illusion can be leveled by repeatedly casting “Calm” or “Courage” spells on an NPC, horse, or livestock.
Restoration can be leveled by repeatedly using Healing Hands alongside a Destruction spell or by using the Equilibrium spell. Players should also create the best healing potion recipe to boost their max health during the leveling process.
