Are there any modern games with cheat codes?

Want to know if there are any modern games with cheat codes? Old school games like The Sims and GTA used cheat codes to make your life easier or just downright silly, but are they still around in modern games?

We’ve all gone overboard with cheats in our gaming lives, from The Sims to GTA, but are there any modern games with codes you can still enter? The last game I played with cheat codes was The Sims 3, but have there been more recent ones?

There are plenty of cheat codes still in existence, and if you want to know which ones are still valid and which ones are still in use, we have a guide on every working cheat code and console command. While there are millions of gamers on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, not everyone wants to cheat, but it is acceptable in solo games. So what about console games? Can you still enter cheats on them? Yes, you can, but they may not work with achievements, and they’re often limited to single-player games.

Here are the best modern games with cheat codes or console commands:

  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Kerbal Space Program
  • Celeste
  • Axiom Verge
  • Doom Eternal
  • Ark: Survival Evolved
  • GTA story mode and most Rockstar games
  • The Sims 4

The Sims 4 still uses cheat codes, including the famous “rosebud.” While console versions of the game limit cheat codes to prevent achievements, they still work on PC. However, there are cheats in The Sims 4 that affect gameplay, which we’ll get to in a bit.

Cheating in solo games is fine, but you should never cheat in multiplayer games, even if it’s just with bots. You’re taking the fun out of the game for everyone else and could get yourself banned from the game’s servers.

Some argue that lootboxes are the new cheat codes, and while there’s no denying that many games charge extra for items that you can get with real money, it’s not technically a cheat code. Cheat codes often make games excessively silly, and while some may argue that this is good, it can be too much for others.

Here are some games that still use cheat codes:

  • Skyrim with mods
  • Stellaris
  • Crusader Kings 3
  • The Sims 4
  • Code Veronica X
  • GTA 5
  • Silent Hill 3 HD
  • The Last of Us

While console versions of The Sims 4 limit cheat codes to prevent achievements, PC and mobile versions of the game don’t have this restriction.

After beating The Last of Us, a secret menu appears.
