XMG’s Oasis MK2 External Liquid Cooler
XMG’s Oasis MK2 external liquid cooler is a solid follow-up to the original model, with a smaller housing and quieter operation. While the MK1 version was among the best gaming laptop coolers around, the MK2 has some notable improvements, and it’ll help keep your compatible XMG gaming laptop running at its best.
The Oasis MK2 houses a custom loop, consisting of a 120mm radiator, fan, pump, and reservoir, to help dissipate heat from the internal components and cool them down. This model is compatible with the previous generation of laptops and will cool the CPU and GPU, with users able to expect up to a 15C temperature drop on XMG’s highest-end laptop models.
The unit itself is more compact and easier to transport than before, thanks to a smaller enclosure. It’s also quieter than before, with XMG claiming that the pump is now “nearly silent” and the unit has a “zero RPM” mode for completely silent operation.
The external Oasis MK2 cooling system measures 95 x 72 x 166mm (H x W x D), and it has a stealthy matte black finish with subtle RGB lighting. There are two intake and exhaust vents that provide fresh air to the radiator, and the liquid cooler connects to the laptop via self-sealing hoses.
The Oasis MK2 is available to buy now as a standalone option for 219 euros (about £190) on bestware.com. You’ll need to factor in the cost of a compatible Oasis MK2 laptop cooler accessory, which is currently unavailable, but XMG says it’ll be available later this year.
