Crash Team Rumble characters list
Want to learn more about the Crash Team Rumble characters? With the vanity fair in Crash’s life nowadays, the titular polar bear has had little time to have fun with his old PlayStation friends. That’s where Crash Team Rumble comes in. With a crew of pals (and some pals-to-be), Crash Bandicoot and his compatriots have returned to the arenas for some good, wholesome fun – but with a competitive edge.
While collecting the most wumpa fruit may sound like child’s play, each of the characters has specific abilities that present interesting challenges to counter in this 4v4 game. The large roster of players ensures a diverse gameplay experience and creates a fun and competitive multiplayer environment. If the recently announced Crash Team Rumble tournament is anything to go by, this game may be the future of the series. Read our Crash Team Rumble review to find out what we thought.
Here are all the characters confirmed so far along with information on their special moves, strengths, and weaknesses. This list will be updated with all characters as they are announced in future seasons.
Crash
The main star of the show, Crash serves as a well-rounded Scorer since he is so well-rounded. He focuses on fast maneuverability such as a double jump, Slide, and Super Jump for times when it’s necessary to clear large gaps. His combat abilities are also quite good.
Coco
Coco is the younger sister of Crash Bandicoot, though the difference in their age may be somewhat greater than we thought because of her powerful abilities. As a Booster, Coco supports her team by unlocking extra powers such as mind control and teleport. Her combat ability is also pretty strong, making her a solid Blocker counterpart to her brother.
Dingodile
Cat lovers pay close attention because Dingodile has finally been confirmed as a playable character. As a fan-favorite villain, Dingodile will bring much-needed balance to the good guys since he is a solid Blocker. He excels in combat and has the largest health bar, making him quite tough to take down.
Cortex
Arch enemy and former employer, Cortex is a mutinous Booster who clashes with Crash on principle since he remains loyal to N. Trance, his former master. As playable characters go, Cortex requires some practice since he doesn’t jump very high and takes some getting used to. He is robust, however, making him a good opponent against more flimsy characters.
Tawna
An alternate version of the character from Crash Bandicoot 4, Tawna is quite a powerful Scorer with high mobility. Her combat abilities are also surprisingly strong for a Scorer, making her a balanced character that offers more than just high damage, unlike some others.
Brio
Also known as ‘Dr. Mix-a-lot’, Brio was the former assistant of Cortex before he went rogue with his master N. Trance. Now Brio is back better than ever as a tricky Blocker who can throw potions and use even more alchemy against enemies by transforming into a powerful creature.
Unnamed Character
We still do not know much about this character other than the fact that they wield powerful control over time and can possibly manipulate it to their advantage. Though they were formerly allied with Cortex, once they were betrayed by their superiors, they joined forces with Crash. Therefore, it’s safe to assume that they are mostly on the good team.
N. Tropy
N. Tropy has been a mainstay enemy since the first game, so it is nice to see him on the good side since he has a keen eye for taking over any realm he sees fit. As a Blocker, N. Tropy is highly agile, making him the most nimble character for those who like to dodge and roll. His powerful attacks also pack a punch in close-quarter combat.
They may not be playable just yet, but these characters have been confirmed by those at Playrise and Naughty Dog.
Crunch the blue kangaroo was seen in early updates but has not been officially confirmed until now. Since Crunch has explosive abilities according to his official artwork, you can expect him to be a firecracker on his official appearance. Don’t get too excited about playing as this character, though, as he may be one of many Season Pass characters.
Formerly known as N. Brio, N. Gin brings back his beloved jetpack and is ready to blow things up. However, since little is known about N. Gin at this stage, there may be more to learn about him in the future. N. Gin’s playstyle is very interesting, considering he is a former underling of Cortex who uses his invention.
