Master Detective Archives: Rain Code - Chapter 1: The Nail Man Killings
Yuma Kokohead's first case has her teaming up with Shinigami to investigate a series of murders in Kamasaki Ward. After a lengthy opening, players gain control of Yuma and can begin their investigation.
The Master Detective Archives: Rain Code walkthrough provides a comprehensive guide to the first part of this detective game, including a detailed look at the Mystery Labyrinth.
Chapter 1: Getting Started
After the initial cutscene and dialogue, players take control of Yuma. In her apartment, there is not much to do except search for Detective Points. Head out of the apartment and to the right to interact with the locals.
Yuma can wash her face at the kitchen sink before exploring Kamasaki Ward. You can interact with NPCs, grab a bite to eat at a food stall, and complete side quests, such as finding a book for Vivia.
The game introduces a fast travel system using the bus, encouraging players to talk to as many people as possible and complete various quests. Shinigami also points out an unmarked building, an abandoned subway station that can be explored later.
Return to Ginma Ward, speak with NPCs marked with yellow exclamation marks, and investigate the clocktower. Thoroughly examine the clocktower room to obtain Solution Keys. There are more requests to be found throughout Kamasaki Ward, so return to the subway for further progress.
Leaving the area leads to the church, where players can engage in conversations and ask questions. Exiting the church takes you to the club, the site of the first murder. Crossing the bridge in the Ginma District leads to an objective marker mansion.
The art gallery within the mansion offers another investigation scene. Players will have to recreate locked rooms, make culprit selections, and engage in reasoning death matches.
Mystery Labyrinth Tree Four
In the next area, players encounter another Mystery Labyrinth, with a surprise guest appearance by Halara. Starting with Tree Four, let's dive in.
Spot selections, continuous attacks, reasoning death matches, and puzzles are all part of the gameplay in the Mystery Labyrinths. Players will recreate locked rooms, make culprit selections, and continue reasoning death matches. The climax of this Mystery Labyrinth involves the Death God transforming into a crown-bearing kaiju.
Correct responses in the Deduction Denouement stage will lead to the conclusion of the chapter. That's all you need to know to play the first chapter of Master Detective Archives: Rain Code.
