Sonic Superstars

Sonic Superstars is set to launch right before the arrival of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Bringing a mix of familiar and new characters, including the return of villain Fang the Sniper after a 20-year absence, the platformer looks set to offer some fast-paced fun. Now, you can pre-order the game, as well as grab a bonus Lego Eggman character.

Launching on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC, you can pre-order Sonic Superstars right now. Physical copies are available from various retailers, for example, and come with a bonus Lego Eggman character. If you’d rather go digital, there are options for that too, and the added benefit of being able to play at midnight on launch day.

Sadly, the co-op gameplay is limited to local play, as Sega claims Sonic games are just too fast to run online. I’d love to see them prove that, because I think they’re wrong. Still, if you’re playing on the same screen, I can understand why it might be tricky.

Deluxe Edition

The Deluxe Edition comes with the base game and additional in-game extras. You can see them all below:

Sonic Superstars release date
Sonic Superstars comes out on October 17, 2023. That’s this Friday, for anyone keeping track. It’s available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Developed by Arzest, the studio led by Sonic co-creator Naoto Ohshima and longtime series producer Takashi Iizuka, Sonic Superstars is considered a mainline Sonic game, although its place in the series’ timeline is subject to interpretation.
