Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical - Act 1 Guide

Medusa’s on the hunt for Calliope, and you’re the only one who can help. Well, that’s what Pan would have you believe, at least. The opening hours of Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical are an intoxicating whirlwind of choices, performances, and colorful characters, but things aren’t always as they seem. Our Stray Gods guide reveals how to progress in Act 1 and achieve Medusa’s best ending.

After an initial tutorial, you’re free to explore the open world of Stray Gods. You can head to The Reliquary right away, but the game suggests you help Pan with a favor first. The kindly god requests that you meet him at Calliope’s apartment, so head there now and speak to him. Unfortunately, Calliope isn’t at home, and Pan has another request: he needs your help with a romantic matter.

Pan wants to help his friend Asterion with a confession. The musician is in love with Hecate, the headmistress of the school where you’re now a student, and needs your assistance with a song. However, you’re about to discover that things aren’t always as they seem, and the first choices you make will have a major impact on the Stray Gods story.

Help Asterion confess his feelings to Hecate

Pan gives you the key to Calliope’s apartment and suggests you ask Asterion for help instead of him. Head to The Reliquary to meet Asterion and Hecate. The musician is clearly nervous, so introduce yourself as Grace. After some initial banter, Hecate reveals that Calliope is dead, and the school’s headmistress was present when she died.

Conversation turns to Calliope’s untimely demise, and Hecate reveals that she suspects Medusa. Asterion approaches you outside The Reliquary and asks for help with his confession to Hecate. Head there now and speak to Hecate. Choose the right dialogue options to control the outcome of the confession song. You can either choose the “Meant to Be” or “Arrow of Eros Undone” achievement based on the outcome.

Asterion reveals that Calliope broke into The Reliquary the night she died. Athena and Medusa were also present that night. Before you head to Medusa’s Lair, return to Pan. The god reveals that Athena and Medusa were Calliope’s parents. He also offers valuable information that you’ll need to progress in Stray Gods.

Head to Medusa’s Lair to gather more clues

Medusa’s Lair is north of The Last Resort, and the location is aptly named. As you approach the school, you’ll discover that Medusa isn’t in a good mood. Certain dialogue options will cause her to attack, so don’t make any mistakes. Once she’s dealt with, head into the school and speak to Asterion. The musician opens The Reliquary, and you’re free to explore the area.

The Reliquary is home to several collectibles and interactable characters. We’ll continue to update our Stray Gods guide as we experience more of the game.
