Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical features an all-star cast of 16 characters, each with a unique personality and background. The story of a stagnant 20-something named Grace who becomes a god to prove she’s not the killer of the Last Muse of the Greek pantheon, the game offers an interactive choices-matter story that takes you on a journey through the realms of the gods and the mortal world.

From the minds of Choice of Games and Choice of Music, the interactive story game offers an experience akin to a novel in an RPG game, with music involved at every step. In addition to the 16 major characters, there’s also a full-length album from Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical featuring 24 original songs. It’s a story-rich game with extensive experience in storytelling and gaming, as the Stray Gods cast boasts a number of notable voice actors.

Leading the pack is Laura Bailey, who provides the voice for Grace, the protagonist and newly appointed Goddess of Song. Grace sings through most parts of the game, which is a nod to the gods of old. Bailey’s extensive work in countless video games, anime, and television makes her the perfect choice to bring Grace to life, and she certainly makes the role her own.

Other notable voices include Troy Baker as Apollo, the God of Sun and Prophecy, and Laura Bailey as Grace. Baker has worked on a number of renowned games, lending his voice to Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite, Joel in The Last of Us, and the Joker in Batman: Arkham Origins.

The Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical cast also includes Laura Bailey as Grace, Felicia Day as Athena, Merle Dandridge as Persephone, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn as Aphrodite, Janina Gavankar as Freddie, Khary Payton as Pan, Erika Ishii as Oracle, Kimberly Brooks as Eros, Salim as Hecate, and Allegra Clark as Asterion.

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical story

In Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, Grace is approached by the four major gods known as The Idols. Each Idol is a prominent member of the Greek pantheon, and each plays a role in Grace’s rise to godhood. Apollo is the God of Sun and Prophecy, Athena is the Warrior Princess and Goddess of War, Persephone is the Queen of the Underworld and Goddess of the Dead, and Aphrodite is the Goddess of Love.

Throughout the story, Grace is joined by six other characters, each with a unique personality and background. Freddie, Grace’s best friend and bandmate, is a sassy, ever-cool musician who has been with Grace for years, and Hecate, the Goddess of Witchcraft and Magic, is a powerful woman who is also Grace’s boss.

The rest of the gods play a crucial role in Grace’s interactions with the world, as she must prove she’s not the killer of Calliope, the Last Muse of the Greek pantheon. Along with these eight characters, there are nine others who play a role in the game’s extensive story, including Apollo’s hacker roommate Oracle, the smooth-talking Pan, and Asterion, also known as The Minotaur.

The Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical cast is rounded out with a host of other characters who bring a unique personality to the game, from the snarky Hecate to the nonchalant Freddie. Each character has a rich back story, lending to the overall experience and the immersion of the game.
