Wondering how to start the Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical? If so, you’ve come to the right place. The Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical is a unique game that mixes roleplaying and musical elements to create something truly special. In our guide, we help you navigate the early scenes as you get started with playing the game.

The Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical begins with band auditions at the community center. You’ll interact with Grace’s bandmates, and you’ll get to hear her sing her first solo song, “Adrift: Part One.” Unfortunately, the song is interrupted by another aspiring musician, Calliope, who auditions for the band.

When you’re first starting out, you’ll be given a choice of natures for Grace. This choice will affect the story’s outcome, so be sure to think about it before making a decision. Once you’ve made your choice, it’s time to get back to the band auditions.

After the band auditions finish, your bandmates will talk about their plans for the night. Grace will add a new song to her sheet, and she’ll also be given the option to go with one of her bandmates. Depending on who you pick, you’ll get to experience different paths and decisions throughout the game.

For now, we’ll choose Francesca because our bandmate is a cutie. Grace and Calliope sing a duet, “Adrift: Part Two,” with different renditions based on your choices. Depending on how you sing the duet, you might find yourself on different paths. For example, if you sing poorly, you’ll find yourself in a bar with a rather inebriated Calliope.

Regardless of your singing, Calliope is mortally wounded and passes her power to you. Once you return to the present, you realize that Calliope is dead and that you’ve been accused of her murder. You’re whisked away by Hermes, who takes you to meet The Chorus. The Chorus consists of Athena, Apollo, Aphrodite, and Persephone, who are essentially the Greek gods.

Grace learns that she’s been accused of murdering Calliope and that she has one week to prove her innocence. Grace sings a plea to The Chorus in a song called “The Chorus in Accord” to plead her case. Apollo disagrees with the sentence, giving Grace a chance to find the real killer within a week. If she doesn’t find the killer, she’ll be executed for a crime she didn’t commit.

Grace returns home to begin her investigation with Calliope’s powers. You’ll be able to use her powers to investigate the crime scene.
