Timing is everything, and the player must enter the Ghost World at exactly the right moment to save Lynne.
The previous chapter saw the hero, Sable, seemingly die, only to find himself in the body of a small terrier. In this chapter, the player needs to use all their cunning and detective skills to save Lynne from danger. Be warned: there are major spoilers in this guide, so only continue reading if you don’t mind learning how the chapter plays out.
As the player reaches the dead driver at the Chicken Kitchen, Lynne is found crushed under a giant chicken leg sculpture, which promptly falls on top of her. The player will be able to rewind time using her corpse to learn what happened. Asking Lynne questions while she’s alive, and observing the destruction of the restaurant will help the player successfully plant a bug, as well as reveal new clues.
The player can use the phone line to return to the Chicken Kitchen, possessing a T-shirt hanging on the line to reach the other side of the kitchen. Clearing the smoke and manipulating the chef’s actions will help the player do that.
Asking Lynne about the sign on the table and ringing the bell three times will have the waitress walk over to Lynne’s table. Hitching a ride in the waitress’s pitcher allows the player to reach the other side of the restaurant.
Following the waitress, the player will want to hide in a large trunk at the bar. Listening to a conversation between two patrons, who are discussing Lynne’s whereabouts. The bartender will place a glass on the bar, allowing the player to move upward until they can leap onto the countertop.
Ringing the bell causes the waitress to come over again. Using the tap, fill and knock over a glass, diverting her attention while the player moves up the countertop and onto the sign.
The bartender will replace the broken glass, allowing the player to enter the trunk and get carried to a corner table. Listening to a conversation between Beauty and another character.
The van hits the building, and the player will need to use a swinging lamp to jump over the giant chicken leg.
Leaping from the chicken bone to the van’s driver to replay the last four minutes and try to stop the accident from happening. Using various tactics, such as turning on the siren and manipulating the binoculars, the player can influence the driver’s actions.
