Mortal Kombat 1: New Story Trailer and Kombat Pack Fighters Announced

Mortal Kombat fans are very unhappy with Ermac's MK1 design, considering it a major downgrade from his MK11 appearance. The fighting game's creator, Ed Boon, promises a big presence for Mortal Kombat 1 at San Diego Comic-Con, including a new story trailer and the announcement of the first Kombat Pack fighters.

While the reception to the Kombat Pack has been positive so far, fans are particularly unhappy with Ermac's design, which lacks a mask, red colorings, and bandages to resemble his original MK1 appearance.

Boon says the Kombat Pack will include Homelander, Omni-Man, Peacemaker, Takeda, Quan Chi, and Ermac, as leaked earlier on Amazon. The new design for Ermac has been compared to characters like the Kollector, the dried-up grandma from SpongeBob, and even Halo Infinite's Craig.

Mortal Kombat 11's Ermac design was seemingly the perfect design, bringing together all of his previous designs. The new design in MK1, then, is seen by many as the 'biggest downgrade of all time' (although the original Mortal Kombat 1 Sub-Zero seems to be a close second).
