Mortal Kombat 11
Mortal Kombat 11’s Skarlet is “definitely not” in the fighting game, as confirmed by Beata Poźniak, the voice actress for the character. Roster leaks also suggest that she won’t be playable.
Most fans have turned their attention to the roster now that the initial reveal and gameplay trailer for Mortal Kombat 11 are out of the way. While NetherRealm has only officially revealed a handful of characters so far, numerous leaks have given us a good idea of who might be included.
Skarlet's Absence
Skarlet, a fan-favorite character introduced in Mortal Kombat 9, won’t be making an appearance in Mortal Kombat 11. Despite her popularity and unique abilities, she doesn't seem to have made the cut. In an interview with Dot Esports, Skarlet’s voice actress, Beata Poźniak, stated that she hasn't been asked to return for her voice.
“Unfortunately, I don’t know anything about MK11,” Poźniak says. “So I can’t help you with that hahaha. And I will answer—for sure—that I’m not the voice of Skarlet in this game.”
Poźniak expressed interest in returning, but the fact that she isn't listed as part of MK11’s Kombat Pack 1 makes it unlikely for her to be back for Mortal Kombat 11.
Roster leaks further suggest that Skarlet won’t be playable at all in Mortal Kombat 11. Though it’s possible she may appear as a rumored Kameo fighter, this hasn’t been confirmed yet. Since she isn’t mentioned as part of Kombat Pack 1, it’s safe to assume she’s not in the game.
Voice Cast Consistency
While it’s not uncommon for NetherRealm to replace voice actors between games, Mortal Kombat 11 seems to be trying to keep the voice cast from previous games. Liu Kang, for example, will be keeping his voice, which further strengthens the theory that Poźniak won’t return for MK11. Of course, it’s still possible for Liu Kang to be replaced, but that would be quite a significant change.
Poźniak’s interest in returning makes it even more unlikely that Skarlet will be replaced, further suggesting that she won’t be in the game. Although this may disappoint fans, it only adds to the anticipation of new character reveals, which we can expect shortly based on previous MK11 announcements.
